Jigsaw Tradition

December 25, 2012

I love that at this time of year things slow down just a bit, and work makes way for family time and a little R & R. Every year my family piles around a table to put together a jigsaw puzzle. It's a tradition that I've come to look forward to every year. To the right is this year's puzzle in action, a Charley Harper menagerie of birds and animals.

In a way, I look at the holidays as a chance for resting up so I'm ready to go full steam ahead in the new year. But I can't ever fully check out. My brain needs a little stimulation. Working a puzzle is a different kind of mental challenge from my day to day work.
