When we put the call out for interns to Musical Family Tree, we got a ton of interested and very awesome applicants. Rob Peoni stood out from the crowd because of what he's been able to build with his own blog, Thought on Tracks. As the new Musical Family Tree intern, Rob will be focusing on blogging, show and music reviews, helping with MFT events and otherwise supporting the local music scene.
Rob is from Indianapolis, born and raised. After graduating from Cathedral High School, he earned degrees in Journalism and Political Science at Indiana University. He also coaches youth soccer at St. Richard's Episcopal School each fall. And, as he says: "More often than not, you can find me at one of Indy's terrific music venues." Look for him next time you're at a local show, and in the meantime, follow him on twitter: @ThoughtOnTracks
What bands do you listen to?
I'm currently big on 60s-influenced garage rock. I'm also a sucker for experimental, female-driven pop (see: tUnE-yArDs, KO, TEEN, Pollens). However, my comfort foods will always be an earnest folk song and some New Orleans R&B.
Fill in the blank: If I wasn't interning with Musical Family Tree at SmallBox, I'd probably be ______________.
Rolling dice for dollars in a back alley.
Write the first thing that comes to mind when reading each word!
rock: hard place
bicycle: diaries (excellent book by David Byrne)
Broad Ripple: Music Fest
