Last year was super nice.
In December 2012, SmallBox was lucky enough to have an extra $5,000 in our coffers. We knew that we could spend the money on a brewery tour or a wicked-sweet foosball table, but we like to be involved in the community. (After all, it would be weird if we had a line out the door to play foosball in the office. I, for one, wouldn’t get anything done – with my slaying of all challengers of course – but I digress.) So we decided to give it away and thus Nice Grants was born. We were lucky enough to have Angie’s List join in the effort, raise the total to ten $1,000 grants, and spend the year assisting some really great people with some really great projects.
Alas, projects end…
But wait. It’s not over yet.
A new dawn has risen. Nice Grants is back for 2014, and we have another 10 grants of $1,000 for 10 crazy / weird / awesome ideas to improve Indianapolis. Non-profits? We’d love to hear about your project. Regular person with a cool idea? We would love to hear about your project. Businesses? We would love to hear about your project. If you have a project in mind, we want to hear about it.
Head over to nicegrants.org to learn about last year’s projects and let us know about your idea by Friday, April 4. (UPDATE - as of April 3, 2014 we have extended the deadline for submissions to Friday, April 11 at 5pm) Indianapolis is about to get nice, and this time it’s personal.
Let’s make this year super nice.
