Factory Week, where our team goes offsite to work on big ideas and projects, has grown to bea favorite SmallBox institution. It creates space for us to collaborate more deeply, to learn new skills and to realize ideas that have been waiting in the wings for longer than we like. We were thrilled when Fast Company approached Jeb for an interview to explain how others can plan for their own version of Factory Week.
Increasingly, we’ve found methods like this that change the way people work and think are great for more than just launching big projects. A well-planned Factory Week can act as a starting point to spark organizational change in businesses that need it.
To that end, we’ve already begun facilitating Factory Weeks with other organizations. We share our methods, help frame up ideas, lead brainstorming and problem-solving sessions, and add insights and next steps as take-aways. Whether a company works with us as consultants, or simply take this framework and designs their own version of Factory Week, we are glad to see these ideas spread.
