Our Culture

Our culture didn't happen accidentally. We've built it with purpose over time. We know our brand is really just a reflection of our culture, so nothing is more important to us than a healthy team culture.

Each team member adds their own flavor to the mix and we enjoy doing things together — Beer Fridays, the annual party and overnight at the Story Inn, Factory Week, weekly lunches and SXSW, to name a few. We work as hard as we play, though, because we're passionate about what we do.

Speaking of passion, we are fiercely passionate about Broad Ripple and our fair city of Indianapolis. We believe Indianapolis is one of the best places on earth. If you haven't been to Indy we hope you will come visit. We'd love to show you around.

Our CEO Jeb Banner has ingrained community involvement into our culture. We’re the sort of team that needs extracurriculars to thrive. That's why we put on a music festival and embark on collaborations like 24 Hour Web Project and the Speak Easy.

SmallBox sponsors things like Indy Startup Weekend and our local public radio station, WFYI. SmallBoxers individually volunteer at Broad Ripple Village Association, Midtown Loves Local, Girls Inc, Indianapolis International Film Festival, Fairbanks, Speakeasy, Trinity Church, SENSE Charter School and more.

Google just announced their Knowledge Graph. Not really a surprise since it seems like they were headed that way for a while now...
I think a lot of kids growing up in the 90s were inspired by videogames...
