Do you have a website? Is it easy to update? Probably not. A modern website should be user friendly, search engine friendly and owner friendly. We define owner friendly as being as easy as email. Everyone knows how to use email. In our experience websites that aren't easy to update aren't updated.

If you aren't updating your site then visitors and search engines will wonder if you are still in business. It's like having a store that never updates its inventory. A stale website can do real harm. We focus on training and supporting our clients so that they can easily and confidently update their website regularly.

SmallBox's Easy CMS

A Content Management System (CMS) is a password-protected area where you can update the content of your website. As a young company (way back in '06) we looked into using other CMS solutions but found them all to be restrictive or lacking. Many were bloated "everything but the kitchen sink" solutions, bogged down with all kinds of stuff no one would ever use — so we built our own! Actually our senior Web Developer Joe Downey built it and the rest of us nodded with approval.

Every SmallBox CMS is custom tailored to the website it is powering. No bloat allowed. Our Web development team is consistently updating and making improvements. We are currently working on our 3.0 version.

Open Source Programming

SmallBox is an Open Source shop, meaning we work on the LAMP platform- Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. We rigorously test our sites in all modern browsers including Internet Explorer 7, and 8, Firefox 2, and 3, Safari and Chrome.
