Glossary » Prototype
Prototype, n.-
1. A clickable web presentation that simulates a concept.
def.-Before the construction crew gets started building a house or an addition for you, you've already got a pretty good idea of what you're getting because you've seen the blueprint and you're familiar with the materials that are going to be used. Sometimes, with website construction, it's not very easy put everything that we're going to build for you down on paper. This is why we'll often show our clients a prototype--so they know what they're getting before we build it.
Sometimes you've got to see something to believe it, and sometimes you have to see something to even understand it. At times, during a meeting or a phone conversation, you may find yourself secretly thinking what is this web-developer talking about? What is a CMS again? Or you may not even know how to phrase the question that you really need to ask. This is why we often show our clients a prototype of what we intend to build for them. That way we can make sure that we're giving you want, and you can feel secure that you're getting what you need.
