Small Gift BoxGreetings from Inside the Box! You've probably noticed the newsletter looks a little different. Since the last issue, we completely overhauled our old website with a brand new look and feel. Some of those changes, including our new logo, are reflected in this issue. We've also been happily busy responding to all the attention from our recent small business profile in the Indianapolis Business Journal.

What has it all meant? Lots of phone calls and new business inquiries, plus a certain amount of respectability for our hard working crew. I'm glad we don't have to spend a lot of time looking back over the last two years examining our accomplishments. But you can, at our new site, SmallBoxWeb.com.

We look forward into the future. A future filled with new technologies, business opportunities, and lots more websites. Read on for an idea of what we've been up to lately.

IBJ Cover

We're all very honored to have been profiled in the March 29 issue of the Indianapolis Business Journal. The profile chronicles our growth from the beginning days in 2006 to where we find ourselves now. Jeb explained to the IBJ, "We named our business 'Small Box' because our company is small but very powerful. Our services are affordable and effective for our target audience: small and medium-size businesses in Indiana." The article highlights our content management system (CMS) and also includes some flattering compliments from past and present customers.

Secret Link Contest Returns!
Win a Free Microsite or $500 in Web Development Services

The outcry was deafening when we didn't run a secret link contest, so we've brought it back - with a twist! We raised the stakes with an unprecedented $500 prize and placed the secret link on our new site. Instead of being somewhere in this newsletter, the secret link is an Easter Egg that Jack left on SmallBoxWeb.com. Here's how to play:
  • Go to our new site
  • Find Jack's Easter Egg
  • Notify a Small Box team member through our site's new Live Chat feature (email does not count!)
If you're the first person to notify us via our site's Live Chat you'll get to choose from either a free custom 1-2 page microsite (a $500 value) or a $500 store credit towards web development services of $2,000 or more! But hurry, the contest ends on April 30, 2008!
New Small Box Web Site!

The Small Box Site Gets a Make-over

Small Box Web Site
Although our old site had served us well, we had pretty much outgrown it.
We bounced a bunch of design ideas off of Jack Shepler and were blown away by what he came up with. His design included a brand new logo and expanded navigation. Although our new site has a lot more content than before, Jack streamlined the expanded navigation making our site a breeze to explore.

The former site was almost as old as the company itself and predated our popular Content Management System (CMS). So, updating it was a real hassle. Those days are gone now that we have a fully integrated CMS with modules that control:
But the coolest part is that all these modules interact with each other on the front and back ends via tagging.

Some other cool new features that you should take for a spin include:
  • fully integrated Blogspot blog
  • brand new contact form
  • Live Chat
  • newsletter sign-up
