Broad Ripple Music Festival October 16 - 17, 2009

MFT LogoIt's that time of year again when Small Box leads the charge for our favorite local music festival. Bands come and go, venues change, but each year thousands of music fans come see over a hundred bands in Broad Ripple Village!

This year proceeds from the Broad Ripple Music Festival will go to support Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. The Fest is also a partnership with our friends at Musical Family Tree, Nuvo, and Indianapolis Songwriters Cafe.

Visit www.broadripplemusicfest.com to get the latest information including tonight's, Friday the 16th, kick off party at the Vogue featuring reunion shows by popular Indy bands including the original line up of Johnny Socko.

"Small Box has been a very valuable and reliable partner. Because of the great work they did on our corporate site, we kept coming back to them when we needed to create sites for several clients, as well as a product specific site.

We have received compliments on all of them. Not only did they look good visually, but more importantly, they were rock solid. I know when a customer calls to say they are having problems with a site, that it will most likely end up being a problem on their end and not ours. We will continue to look to Small Box for our web needs."

NingWhat Happened to Ning?

The bloom is starting to fade on the popular white label social networking platform called Ning. Jeb, who happens to have been the Technical Editor of Ning For Dummies, shares some of his frustrations with Ning from lousy RSS feeds to a closed API that makes it virtually impossible to develop third party apps. Ning listens and responds in the comments!   More>>

Good TrafficGood vs Bad Search Engine Traffic

If someone ever tells you that there's no such thing as bad traffic, turn around and immediately walk away.  In this post Jeb explains what constitutes good traffic.  He then goes on to explain how paying attention to your analytics and doing your keyword research the right way can maximize your good traffic while minimizing your bad traffic.

 Musical Family Tree
Since 2006, Small Box staff have hosted the largest community of music aficionados in the state of Indiana

MFT LogoSummer 2009 however, it was time to put in some work to make MFT something much more.

A new design, a thriving Ning community and new functionality letting the bands add music and interact with their audience has taken this project to a new level.  This site has finally matured into a rich web application that is poised to soon be launched nation wide.

Broad Ripple Music Fest
In 2007, we channeled our passion for music and community into the the largest active music festival in Indianapolis

MFT Logo
October 16 - 17, 2009 we carry on the tradition of supporting local nonprofits through the community of Broad Ripple businesses and musicians. BRMF has evolved each year with 2009 bringing in more bands from outside of Indianapolis, more sponsors, and new venues.  Proceeds this year go to Keep Indianapolis Beautiful KIBI.org, coincidentally we did their site too.

Broad Ripple Buzz
Since the Festival happens once a year, we built a site to support our community every day and all the time.

MFT LogoSmall Box believes that the residents, retailers, restaurateurs, and small business owners all share a love for this diverse and cultural neighborhood.

We celebrate the magic vibe of the Northside with this site, encouraging everyone to set up a personal or business profile and talk about all things Broad Ripple.
