Small Box Chooses Madame Walker Theatre Center for Winter 2010 24 Hour Web Project Challenge
24 Hour Web Project Logo
We are very proud to announce Madame Walker Theatre Center as our Winter 2010 24 Hour Web Project recipient!

The Madame Walker Theatre Center is an Indianapolis non-profit whose mission is to preserve and perpetuate the legacies of its namesake, Madam C.J. Walker by becoming the primary sponsor of African-American arts in the Midwest. Our team, along with the Madame Walker Theatre Center team, will come together for 24 contiguous hours to redesign and develop a new, dynamic Web site for the non-profit in January of 2010.

Small Box's Jeb Banner is very excited about the challenge and partnership with
Madame Walker Theatre Center, "Although we had many great applicants for our second 24 Hour Web Project challenge, we chose Madam
e Walker Theatre Center because of their historical commitment to promote creativity and community in Indianapolis." Banner goes on to state, "We also thought it would be fun to set up on their stage!"
Meet Ed Rice
User Experience Designer/Creative Director
Ed Rice

We first met Ed this summer when he began working part-time as a Usability Consultant for Small Box. We liked him so much we decided to ask him to officially join our team.

Along with being the creative mind behind many of our websites, Ed is our user experience designer, interface designer, information architect, usability engineer and user-centered design aficionado. Call it what you will, but his job is to ensure that all Small Box websites provide the best possible online experience for all users.

Part of Ed's job is to observe and interview potential users to identify their needs and preferences when visiting a website. Basically, Ed is your website's personal cheerleader. He works hard to make sure your business is making the absolute most out of your online presence.

"I offered Ed an internship halfway through our first conversation and then offered him a full time job half way through his internship. I knew I had a star on my hands and he hasn't disappointed", states Jeb Banner, Small Box CEO.

Bone Dry Roofing
Small Box helps local family owned and operated roofing company grow nationally
using the Web

Bone Dry RoofingBone Dry initially came to Small
Box for our Search Engine Optimization services, and after we achieved favorable results (including getting them the #1 Google position for "Indianapolis Roofers") Bone Dry came back to Small Box to re-design all five of their websites.

Small Box was able to rise to the challenge and re-design bonedryroofing.com, bonedryexteriors.com, bonedryinteriors.com, brdmasonry.com, and bonedrycommercialroofing.com, all with a consistent look and feel - giving each of their service divisions a strong platform while maintaining brand continuity.

Furthermore, Small Box was able to build a custom locations module which allows Bone Dry to add location-specific sub-domains (such as louisville.bonedryroofing.com). This allows Bone Dry to easily create new websites specific to their expanding locations, complete with location-specific content, photos, and SEO - allowing them to effectively market to locations throughout the Midwest.

Marigold Clothing
Broad Ripple women's clothing boutique gets new site that mirrors the style and ambience of the store
Marigold Clothing
Marigold Clothing came to Small Box in need
of a dynamic, branded site for
their new store front in Broad Ripple Village. They also wanted to increase the functionality of their site while having control when needing to make updates or changes to the site.

In addition to a great design that reflects the overall look and feel of the store, Small Box created a custom integrated CMS that allows a Marigold administrator to easily update the site on their own. Marigold can now easily switch out images on their homepage, add photos of new products in a photo gallery, promote upcoming events and change page content.

The end result was a highly branded, easy-to-use and easy-to-update site that speaks directly to the customers of Marigold Clothing. Also, it shows up on page one of Google for many relevant searches like "Indianapolis Clothing Stores"!
