Jack Shepler

Designer, Developer, Consultant

aesthete, ideator, problem solver

SmallBoxer since: February 2007

Favorite thing about working at SmallBox? The people and flexibility are wonderful. The entire company's unadulterated support of the local community and businesses. Jeb's passion for business and the ability for me to continue working with SmallBox as I start my own venture.

What do you geek out on? Pop art — especially Keith Haring. The depths of electronic dance music and vinyl/turntables. Shoes!

What would you do if you weren't working at SmallBox? Probably running my own company. ;)

When you're not SmallBoxing, you're most likely: DJing, listening to music, having serious discussion on the internet.

How do you get involved in your community? I'm involved very much in the local electronic dance music scene. A founding promoter of Broad Ripple Music Fest. I'm also a volunteer with Indy Pride, where I'll be Director of the 2nd Stage in 2012.

I believe in: people, music and the greater good.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever gotten? “Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” Calvin Coolidge told me that.

Favorite band: Radiohead, Daft Punk.

Favorite place in Broad Ripple: Broad Ripple Brewpub, The Wellington

Longest you can go without internet: About this many: <----------->

What is the meaning of life? To create your own destiny.

What's your ninja superpower? Absorbing knowledge and applying it.

What's your proudest achievement? Becoming an independent business owner / entrepreneur.

Favorite internet meme: Spreading Romney.

Favorite movie: Inception, Groundhog Day, Back to the Future

Google/Apple/Facebook/Amazon — which one do you like the most and why? Apple

Any noteworthy awards you wanna mention? 3rd Place for "Indy's Best DJ" in NUVO Reader's Choice poll 2011. Several "Indiana School Broadcasters" awards for TV shows I edited or directed.
