Puccini's Smiling Teeth was hailed as one of the hottest restaurants in Indianapolis when they opened their doors, and over the years they've built up a number of franchise serving an innovative, delicious menu of Italian cuisine and innovative pizza concepts. Puccini's was already at the top of the pack in a very competitive market in terms of service and quality — they needed their web presence to reflect that.
Challenge
Indianapolis has nearly 1000 pizza joints — that's a lot of pizza per capita! The city has a pretty sizable number of Italian restaurants in town as well. Puccini's straddles both of these highly competitive food genres and needed a website that could capture the hungry masses and get them in the door. Once a customer crosses the threshold into Puccini's or calls for delivery, they'll be in good hands. The trick is to build a website that accomplishes that first step.
With a presence in the community that's grown steadily for 20 years, motored by great reviews, and multiple franchises, Puccini's has been at the top of Indianapolis's pack of Italian restaurants for a long time. But they needed a website rebuild, and a thoughtful, nuanced SEO campaign to ensure their internet presence reflected their brick and mortar presence in the community.
Solutions
SmallBox maintained the fun, minimalist design that Puccini's customers are used to, while making the site much easier to navigate with a wider array of resources, including a store locator. With their new CMS, Puccini's can update their site to run specials and provide a headquarters for promotional campaigns.
SmallBox optimized code and content on Puccini's site and — crucially — mounted a company-wide Local SEO and location maps optimization for all franchises. Optimizing the 14 franchises in Google Places and other searches strived to help their SEO rankings soar.
Results
Traffic to the site has grown by nearly 15%, due in no small part to a 20% growth in search engine traffic. They're showing up near the top of page one for search terms as competitive as 'pizza indianapolis' and 'delivery service indianpolis.'
