Challenge

The Women's Fund of Central Indiana had been a subpage of Central Indiana Community Foundation's (CICF) website for years. This had been the extent of their internet presence, which was beneficial at first, as CICF had an established, high-traffic site. Being attached to CICF's website had given Women's Fund a lot of exposure initially, but it was time to break out. They needed a deeper website with expanded information that supported their mission and their accomplishments, and it needed to attract more traffic than their old presence on CICF had.

Solution

Women's Fund signed up for SmallBox's full process. We did competitive review and user testing during the planning phase to ensure a smooth, intuitive user experience. Strong calls to action were set up on every page to speak to all of Women's Fund's audiences: grant-seekers, donors and board members. With SmallBox's video editing assistance, staffers at Women's Fund shot videos to help tell some of Women's Fund's success stories. We created a custom-built Content Management System (CMS) to enable Women's Fund staff to easily update their own site. Then, our SEO team optimized the new site.

Results

Women's Fund saw a 243% increase in visitor traffic to the site from June 1- December 1, 2010, measured against traffic to their page the previous year.  They saw an 863% increase in pageviews during the same time period and a 343% increase in time spent on their site.
